The Shape-shifting Satie

Five Reinventions in Sound & Silhouette
Erik Satie (1866-1925)
A curated edition of 15 piano works presented as a five-part cycle of evolving artistic personas. Familiar works such as Gymnopédie No. 1 and Gnossienne No. 1 appear alongside lesser-known pieces, forming a coherent progression across the changing musical language of Erik Satie.
Based on early editions and primary sources, this edition preserves original markings while standardizing notation for clarity in modern engraving. Editorial adjustments are limited to correcting notational inconsistencies and, in select cases, clarifying structure and continuity in performance where supported by musical context.
Included:
Chapter I - The Gymnopédiste
Gymnopédie No. 1 (1888)
Gnossienne No. 1 (1890)
Sarabande No. 3 (1887)
Chapter II - The Rosicrucian Priest
Première Pensée Rose+Croix (1891)
Vexations (1893)
Selections from Danses gothiques (1893)

To perform these works is to experience the evolution of Satie's compositions in sound and silhouette.
The Secret Diary

A Narrative Suite for Piano
Zdeněk Fibich (1850-1900)
A curated and newly edited piano suite drawn from Moods, Impressions, and Reminiscences, Op. 41, by Zdeněk Fibich.
Fibich began this private musical diary in 1892, inspired by his student and muse, Anežka Schulzová. When published, the works received generic descriptors or tempo markings, obscuring their personal character. Later musicological research restored the links between the published scores and the private inspirations behind the music.
This edition presents eleven selected pieces, assembled into a coherent narrative cycle with descriptive titles informed by historical commentary. The suite includes the best-known miniature by the composer, commonly published as Poem. The music has been carefully edited for modern performance — notation clarified, ambiguous passages refined, and hand placement made more explicit — while preserving the original text and expressive intent.
Included:
Chapter I - Moods of Desire
Our Harmony (No. 36)
Violet Dress (No. 44)
Unspoken Yearning (No. 8)
Chapter II - Impressions of the Muse
Delicate Hand (No. 74)
Quiet Dreaming (No. 50)
Soft and Tender (No. 88)
Hidden Note (No. 123)
Chapter III - Shared Reminiscences
Impatience on the Journey (No. 143)
A Day Together (No. 145)
Sanctuary on Žofín Island (No. 139, also known as Poem)
A Final Thought (No. 171)
The suite is intended to be experienced as a complete cycle rather than as a collection of isolated miniatures.
