Tempo Vero Editions specializes in high-quality arrangements and transcriptions of contemporary music with classical influences, as well as carefully refined versions of traditional classical works. Each edition is crafted with precision, featuring clean formatting, accurate notation, and clear performance directions to ensure a smooth and rewarding playing experience for musicians across skill levels.

Behind the Brand

I’m Todd Scallan, the creator of Tempo Vero Editions. Growing up playing classical piano, I developed a deep love for a wide range of classical composers. My passion extends to contemporary music that carries classical influences. I believe sheet music is not just a tool for conveying a composer’s intent, but also a form of visual art that can enhance the joy of playing.

The Inspiration

Tempo Vero Editions was born from my personal journey of creating editions for my own enjoyment. I often struggled to find sheet music for some of my favorite contemporary composers whose music blends classical styles with modern sensibilities. I was also disappointed by traditional classical sheet music that merely reproduced old editions, often lacking clarity and readability. So, I began creating my own editions for personal use.

As I realized how much these editions elevated my playing experience, I wanted to share them with others who might face similar challenges or those seeking to expand their musical repertoire. You can find these editions on Sheet Music Direct and Sheet Music Plus.

From the Page to the Stage

It is incredibly rewarding to see these editions come to life on the concert stage. In February 2026, internationally acclaimed pianist Vera Osina performed a selection of Anthony Phillips’ compositions at the International Piano Days Festival (Internationale Klaviertage) in Germany. This concert marked the first time these pieces had ever been heard in a live setting. The event was officially recorded and released as the live album 'Ivory Moon' - The Romantic Piano Music of Anthony Phillips - Live in Concert, available as a digital download (Bandcamp) and on CD (Burning Shed). Knowing that these transcriptions and arrangements meet the high standards required for live performance and commercial release brings my journey full circle—scores that are as rewarding to play at home as they are on stage.
